In Alex Hern’s 25 years as an entrepreneur, he has founded, co-founded and served as Director, Chairman, Chief Executive Officer, and a Board member on more than a few companies. He has co-founded and served as Director of Arcsight, CloudShield, Inktomi, and Yesmail; co-founded and served as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Military Commercial Technologies; and founded and served on the Boards of NewHomes.com and Triton Network Systems.
The idea for Alex Hern’s founding of Tsunami came into being when he realized that a transition of computing era had taken place. That is, the CPU-driven computer era was transitioning to the GPU-driven computer era, giving rise to a new computing era–the spatial computing era. Since Alex Hern is first and foremost a businessman, naturally he saw that such a transition in computing era will furnish him with a wonderful opportunity to make a great deal of money on the theory that there would be a prospective increase in demand for new software applications and platforms that could leverage the new capabilities given occasion to by the arrival of the new graphic procession.
Alex Hern firmly believes that being able to focus on one’s goals is one of the most important keys to success. That is why he personally allocates 4-5 hours a day to the focused attention on the one thing that can bring about his and his company’s advancement and/or the realization of their goals. This is also why he advises that people disable their phones for 4 hours a day or so in order that they may be able to focus on their goals properly and more effectively. Another staple in Alex Hern’s day is that he brainstorms every night to come up with new ideas and innovations that will be of consequence in the affirmative for him and his company. Alex Hern also believes in consistently waking up early every morning.
